Great day at the bazaar. The Deale Volunteer Fire Department held a festive show. Thanks to everyone that came out on a rainy day and did their last minute shopping at the event and supported the fire department and all of the vendors. A special thank you to all of you who purchased the whipped honey and helped in Windows of Strength cause - to assist organ transplant recipients with their non-medical costs. Thank you to the North Beach Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary for the invite to their Craft/Vendor Show today. It was a great event. Hope you met your goal and were able to raise funding for the fire department. Thanks to the vendors too. Met lots of great and giving people. Hope to see you all again.

Stars and Stripes Festival May 26-28, 2012 The town of Chesapeake Beach hosted a three-day Memorial Day Festival "Chesapeake Stars and Stripes Festival". The intention was to involve the youth of community in efforts to educate them on what Memorial Day is all about. A wide range of family friendly activities and venues were held throughout the weekend. The Northeast Community Center, Chesapeake Beach Maryland, was the center of activity for military and civilian non-profit organizations with a focus on aide to our military families. Fifty non-profit organizations attended the event in support of our military and in tribute to our Fallen Hero's. Sandy Walker-Samler, Founder of Windows of Strength, Limited, explained we must not forget that military personnel and families are not exempt of the need for organ transplants and also assistance with non-medical out-of-pocket costs throughout the transplant process. The Mother/Daughter Tea and Fashion Show is not only a fundraising event for Windows of Strength, Limited, but also a way to honor and memorialize all the special Mom's in our lives. So not matter what special Mom that is in your life, I hope the event created priceless memories that will last a lifetime!
Attendees were awarded prizes for the following creative hats: Sassiest Glamorous Traditional Hattitude (best handmade) Elegant/Classic Most Unique Proceeds from the show benefit patients at the University of Maryland Transplant Center. We hope to see everyone again next year. |
