Windows of Strength, Limited, was established in June, 2010 and officially received 501 (c) 3 status in June, 2011.  Our mission and purpose is to assist organ transplant recipients and their caregivers with non-medical costs incurred that are not covered by insurance, government programs and other funding organizations.  

Each year we hold two major fundraising events, a gift show which is held the Sunday before Thanksgiving and a Mother/Daughter Tea and Fashion Show which is held the Sunday before Mother’s Day.  We have also implemented an ongoing fundraising project.  We partner with Phoneraiser.com to help raise money through the donation of used cell phones, smart phones and ink jet cartridges.  This program is twofold. Not only can you support Windows of Strength, Limited, by donating these items but at the same time help save the environment from toxic waste.  During the holiday season we attend various gift and vendor shows and sell whipped and creamed honey with the proceeds of sales benefiting the organization. 

We have provided assistance to post transplant recipients of the Stepping Stones Transplant Patient Fund of Johns Hopkins Medical Comprehensive Transplant Center, the University of Maryland Transplant Center, the Medical University of South Carolina University, the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center Spirit of Life Fund and The Gift of Life Family House.  In addition, individual grants have been provided to recipients for many miscellaneous out-of-pocket expenses.  We will be holding many more events in efforts to raise money for this worthy cause.

We also unite with Donate Life America http://donatelife.net  Donate Life Maryland https://www.donatelifemaryland.org , The Living Legacy Foundation http://www.thellf.org   and the Transplant Recipients International Organization Maryland Chapter  http://triomaryland.org in the promotion and raising awareness of the need for organ and tissue donation and in the commitment to improve the quality of lives touched by the miracle of organ transplantation through support, advocacy, education and awareness.  The inspirational words used by Windows of Strength, Limited of Life, Giving, Love, Caring represent our passion for the combination of what all of these organizations represent.
