Stars and Stripes Festival May 26-28, 2012 The town of Chesapeake Beach hosted a three-day Memorial Day Festival "Chesapeake Stars and Stripes Festival". The intention was to involve the youth of community in efforts to educate them on what Memorial Day is all about. A wide range of family friendly activities and venues were held throughout the weekend. The Northeast Community Center, Chesapeake Beach Maryland, was the center of activity for military and civilian non-profit organizations with a focus on aide to our military families. Fifty non-profit organizations attended the event in support of our military and in tribute to our Fallen Hero's. Sandy Walker-Samler, Founder of Windows of Strength, Limited, explained we must not forget that military personnel and families are not exempt of the need for organ transplants and also assistance with non-medical out-of-pocket costs throughout the transplant process.
